Viberg Service Boot 310 BCT - Color 8

The Service boot is Viberg's most iconic product that dates back to 1931. This version is a 7 eyelet, ankle boot.

The 310 last is defined by a distinct boxy toe shape, known as a sprung toe, which creates a natural rocking motion with each step. The sprung toe was designed in the early 1900s as a way to make stiff-soled industrial boots more comfortable to walk in. Our 310 last is inspired by the characteristics of two vintage lasts; a British climbing boot and a mid-century work boot, with a distinct "bump" in the toe. We combined elements from each of these profiles to create the 310 last, which has a very unique shape and fit.

  • 310 Last (a sprung toe boot last with a distinct boxy toe shape)
  • 2x7 gunmetal eyelets
  • Natural Midsole
  • Stitchdown constuction
  • Dainite brown sole
  • Rawhide & Flat Waxed Laces
  • Each pair comes with dust bags for each shoe

100% Handmade in British Columbia, Canada

The famous Horween Color #8 is a deep brown with a reddish undertone that is almost burgundy or dark cherry. The number eight also indicates how this color is made. Chromexcel is a pull-up leather which highlights the contours and folds of the piece you’re making, giving it a more dynamic character than regular flat looking full-grain leather. Because it is impregnated with a secret blend of oils (a tradition dating back over 90 years), it has a long lasting glow to it that never wears with age.

The rich aniline and semi-aniline finishes showcase the grain of the leather.  Chromexcel’s careful tanning process also ensures a comfort feel and durability for you and your customers. Not only does it look good but it is able to withstand repeated wettings and still dry soft.

There are three secrets to making Chromexcel:

  • full vegetable retan done with an in-house custom blend of retanning liquor
  • genuine hot stuffing- the impregnation of leather with a proprietary blend of natural oils and greases that are solid at room temperature
  • an additional full week long drying process.
