What is broken is the twill weave pattern, twill being the basic weave pattern that gives denim its characteristic diagonal structure. In the case of broken twill there is no visible diagonal structure, look closely and you will instead see a zig-zag structure. The wash on these jeans has pronounced the zig-zag structure, vertical slub, and generated a slightly grainy structure. Deep indigo tones have been preserved at folds while the base tone has a beautiful sky-blue hue with bright blue highlights where abrasions have been applied. Oh, and broken twill offers great comfort, which is enhanced by the comfort stretch in the denim.
