Style:
The design of the ‘Barnstormer’ was based on the vintage Mackinaw coat. The Mackinaw coat was generally created with thick wool melton fabric as work wear for those in cold regions, but sturdy duck canvas or moleskin fabrics have been used as well, a more durable, functional, and lighter alternative. The coat is so functional that it has also been used as a military coat. It is double-breasted and the collar is made with a boa made with Alpaca cotton, with sheep shearing used for the inner lining for extra protection against the cold. The yoke design, which is rare for a vintage coat, and the green suede piping not only reinforces the coat, but adds a stylistic element. The pocket openings have also been reinforced with leather.

Fabric:
Made with a thick heavyweight duck fabric. Generally, heavyweight duck fabric is piece-dyed, but this model has been made with yarn-dyed fabric. The texture is hard and starchy like raw denim, and the fabric fades beautifully over time. By putting the raw fabric under a washer process, it further brings out its natural texture.
