Black Sign 1930s Sashiko Indigo Pigpen Jacket - Dark Indigo (BSFJ-23413)

This jacket is originally a CPO shirt from the 1930s, but after World War II, someone cut the originally round bottom flat and made patch-type hand pockets from the cut fabric on both sides of the front.  That's why the front and bottom are square and there are slits on both sides.

Other details remain the same, the elbow patch is a work shirt detail, the switching around the cuffs and the umbrella yoke on the back are in a western style, incorporating details for different uses. The patch fabric on the back of the collar, multiple reinforcing stitches, and a deformed chin strap are also details typical of a 1930s CPO.

The model name, Pigpen, refers to a code said to have been used by Freemasons in the 1700s for recording and communication. In addition, the indigo-dyed sashiko used this time is a fabric unique to Japan, and as the name suggests, it has details for different purposes. It can be said to be a model typical of Black Sign, which uses different cultures as a code.

The buttons are antique black donut-shaped tuck buttons.

  • 100% cotton jacquard fabric using thick indigo count

Model is 187 cm, 90kg and wearing size 44.
