This jacket draws inspiration from 1940s German military flight jackets. Featuring a slightly shorter length reminiscent of a rider's jacket and handcrafted details like the leather chain-stitched epaulettes and zipper pull design, it stands out as a uniquely distinctive piece among German-style flight jackets. Black Bird's epaulettes use hand-sewn brass buttons that replicate vintage patterns. Unlike standard buttonholes, they are hand-cut like pockets without thread. By eliminating all compromise, Double Helix achieved a high level of authenticity.

When making oiled wax horsehide, the oil is soaked in slowly over time, resulting in a moderate grain feel and comfortable texture that feels good in your hands. The more you use it, the deeper it becomes, giving it a luxurious look.
