Papa Nui Maquis Cap – Dark Olive Wool

Unofficially issued to the French Maquis via the OSS and the Papa Nui Cap Co, this beautiful lined winter wool cap has a dark olive hue, perfect as a natural camouflage in the rural Gallic terrain. Essentially a clandestine cap that allows others in the know to acknowledge fellow members of the underground and allowing downed Allied Pilots to instantly recognize friendlies. First issued by Jack Hemingway to a trusted cadre of French resistance fighters and later becoming a recognized sign of all freedom fighters and enemies of the Axis.
