The Red Wing Leather Footbed is a full-grain leather insole designed to improve the fit of Red Wing footwear while providing a small amount of additional cushioning. The upper surface is made from full-grain cattle hide, while a rubber layer underneath provides light cushioning and helps the footbed stay in place.
At only 3.45 mm thick, the footbed takes up relatively little additional volume inside the boot. It can therefore be used to fine-tune the fit of Red Wing Heritage footwear, particularly when additional volume reduction is needed. The leather surface will absorb moisture and gradually conform to the shape of the foot with use.
