Unlike printed or jacquard patterns, the drunken stripe is woven directly into the cloth at a weaving mill in Banshu, Hyogo Prefecture — a region with over 200 years of textile history. This particular mill has been operating for over 100 years and is the only one in Japan with the specialized technology required to produce this pattern. Because the stripes are created through weaving with thick yarns, the fabric has depth, texture, and authenticity that cannot be reproduced with standard machinery.

The flannel itself is unbrushed, keeping a natural, dry hand that works across all seasons. Despite its weight, the fabric is surprisingly soft, making these pants suitable for year-round wear.
