Buzz Ricksons Mechanics Cap Type A-3 – Olive (BR02536)

The type A-3 cap was adopted in 1942 for use by Army Air Corps mechanics.
In winter, mechanics wore a mouton D-1 jacket over a herringbone twill suit and an A-3 cap.
Photographs taken during the war show that mechanics generally wore their caps with the brim lifted up, which prevented the brim from colliding with the fuselage when working in tight spaces.
