This model features a graphic inspired by the “Black Lions,” a historic fighter squadron that has been active since its establishment as VF-213 by the U.S. Navy in June 1955, printed on a high-quality slub yarn body.
The stenciled “Spook”—depicted wearing a hat and holding a cigarette—is the mascot of the F-4B Phantom II, the state-of-the-art aircraft received in preparation for the Vietnam War.

The body features BUZZ RICKSON’S original 100% Japanese-made cotton fabric.
It is woven from slub yarn—a type of yarn with irregular thickness often seen in vintage T-shirts—giving the fabric’s surface a distinctive textured finish.
Additionally, the “tubular knit body”—knitted in a tube shape to eliminate seams around the torso—offers a soft feel against the skin and a comfortable fit.
