Clinch x Black Sign Transcontinental Boots
The "Transcontinental" is the result of a Black Sign collaboration with CLINCH, a very unique boot brand that excels not only in visual appeal but also in comfort, where the entire process from last (wooden pattern) design to upper sewing, hand-sawn welting, and sole finishing is done in their own Tokyo workshop. This is a high lace-up boot. The height is impressive 16" (relative to the size of the boot).
The leather used is "Waxed Gustave Leather" from Degermann, the oldest tannery in France with over 300 years of history. This leather hide is finished with mineral and vegetable tannings both. When the tanning process is finished then the leather is treated with a natural wax, which gives more durability and a water resistance.
The leather is hand-tanned using the traditional method of "hand-sawn welted," a process that requires a lot of time and effort. The pair born from this advanced technology is very comfortable to wear, soft to the foot and light.
