This mid-weight denim will age, shrink, and stretch like JOE McCOY denim. Based on authentic vintage six-panel baseball caps, the DENIM BASEBALL CAP features a one-size fits all crown, an adjustable black leather strap with nickel buckle hardware, denim self-covered button, embroidered eyelets, 100% cotton canvas sweatband, contrasting under-visor, 100% cotton seam tape, and THE REAL McCOYS tag.

Around 1858, the Brooklyn Excelsiors introduced the progenitor of the modern baseball cap, with its round crown and brief brim indebted to the jockey’s headgear. Soon Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago articulated their own takes on the form, and the cap evolved toward a common standard. With a ubiquitous design in place, manufacturers sought out ways to improve the performance of their caps and a green underbrim was adopted as it was considered to be relaxing on the eyes, reducing glare and lessening distraction from the playing field.
