Shoes Like Pottery - what a name
We love boots, leather boots. We love them, we wear them, we sell them and we understand them....
Spring is coming and we have to admit, we love sneakers too. Obviously, not all of them, we all know that some of them is better to be burned.
This is not the case of Shoes Like Pottery. They put them in the oven but not to be burned but because they use the ancient Japanese technique "Ka-ryu". It is a vulcanizing process that includes firing the outsoles in a kiln, giving each pair a unique texture and finish akin to artisan ceramics. And that makes the strange name Shoes like Pottery.
Shoes Like Pottery is a brand of MoonStar company. Founded in Kurume, Japan in 1873, MoonStar originated as a producer of the tabi (Japanese traditional footwear which is like a five-fingered sock with a rubber sole). Only the best materials are used and skilled craftsmen complete the sneakers by hand.
All their snekers have a signature blue under-soles and also blue stamp logo of "Uchide no kozuchi", the magic hammer which can "tap out" anything wished for.
We have already started to sell SLP sneakers last year and based on our own experiences we can only say: Go for it!
